Between Bows and Borders (BBB) follows five young Koreans who move to Austria to study music and dance. When they arrive, they experience culture shock but are amazed by the atmosphere and architecture of Vienna and Salzburg. The language barrier is tough, but their goal of becoming renowned singers and dancers pushes them to take on the challenge.

Yerin (20), who sings like an angel, had worked three part-time jobs in Seoul to support her grandmother and dreamed of Austria’s mountains.
Sangwon (22), a rebellious pianist who idolizes Mozart, had been the “black sheep” of his family and dreamed of a creative career despite his parents’ strict expectations. Harang (25), who loves many instruments and connects with people through music, had left his home on Jeju Island to explore Austria.

Ara (21), who excels at ballet, had been sent to Vienna by her wealthy parents against her will.
Nuri (24), who plays the violin beautifully, had grown up in Suwon and was driven to fulfill her late mother’s dream of pursuing a career in music.

Across Vienna and Salzburg, their paths cross in classrooms, rehearsal rooms, perfor- mance halls, and on busy city streets, as well as in conversations with fellow expats and Austrian acquaintances. The miniseries follows their one-year stay abroad and shows Austria through their eyes as they learn the language, understand the culture, and build lifelong friendships.
