Documentaries have developed into a film genre of their own; it is only recently that documentaries have started being produced explicitly for cinema showings. Just like a movie, a documentary tells a gripping story, portrays remarkable people, and can lead us to faraway galaxies where no one has been before. The only difference being that the stories, the people, and the places are real rather than invented.
Ideally, documentaries are as fascinating a cinema experience as watching a good movie, with the audience captivated by impressive scenes, touching destinies, and exciting personalities.

The history of the Erste österreichische Glanzstoffwerke St. Pölten, Austria’s first manufacturer of viscose. From the technically genial product to environmental pollution, from guaranteed jobs to subsequent difficulties – the legendary production of Glanzstoff – viscose, in the city of St. Pölten. Although the factory in St. Pölten closed down in 2008, the Glanzstoff Group went on to become a global market leader in its field, with locations in Czechia, Luxembourg, Italy and China. The site of the old Glanzstoff factory is now being transformed into a new urban district, probably the largest in the Lower Austrian capital.
